Release Notes

January 29, 2010

  1. Added option to turn off page breaks under Preferences.

  2. Added option in USTATS to export statistics to CSV file for Excel.

  3. Cleared up extra variables and data lines in Data Entry with Excel and IMPORT of MicrOsiris Template CSV file.

  4. Restored "bad data" counter and message which had been lost in earlier versions.

  5. Fixed reported problems.

  6. Minor tweaks.

  7. Added batch file processing.

  8. Manual and help file additions and corrections.

Summary of Version 9.4 changes (October 1 to date)

  1. Added probability estimate for Spearman Rho in TABLES.

  2. Added REPLACE option for category labels in DICTIONARY command.

  3. VARS=ALL in USTATS and CORRELATIONS now ignores alphabetic variables instead of halting.

  4. Identified alphabetic variables when using  the ? variable prompt.

  5. Removed MAXC restriction in SEARCH.

  6. Added option in Preferences (formerly 'Advanced") to lower-case variable names (except first letter); useful for older datasets entered uppercase.

  7. Added SAVE option for default data directory; displays in Preferences as well.

  8. Changed Codebk references to "Code labels" for clarity. (Codebk was a carry-over from OSIRIS IV that included other code book entries as well as code labels.)

  9. CLUSTER diagram for reporting distances and dissimilarities improved (connecting lines added).

  10. In file assignments screen, using the .DI suffix will default the same file name with suffix .DA when tabbing to DATAIN (.DIC already worked the same way.)

  11. Increased font size for dialogs.

  12. Removed DIF option in IMPORT/EXPORT--obsolete; .CSV files work as well.

  13. In runfile box you don't need to specify the suffix .run

  14. Added MicrOsiris CSV option in IMPORT for files created separately with MicrOsiris XLT template.

  15. MATIN now requires MATIN file assignment--Command not needed as MATIN file assignment works with all commands accepting matrix input.

  16. Bug fix: Fixed problem with n-tiles, and with Spearman Rho calculations when there are ties in row variable ranks.

  17. Reduced executable size considerably.
